Let's go to Gifu (Shirakawa-go, Takayama, Hirayu Onsen) & Matsumoto
When it comes to winter in Japan, snowy scenery is one of the most impressive things to see during the trip. This time we headed to Japan Alps area to check out the UNESCO World Heritage site called Shirakawa-go village, eat a lot of the famous Hida beef in Takayama and visit the beautiful castle of Matsumoto.

Why here and how to go there?
Since it has been snowing a lot this year, I thought it might be a good time to visit Shirakawa-go. After searching for a while, I found a Three-Star Route Ticket which covers the area of Shinjuku - Matsumoto - Shirakawago - Kanazawa/Toyama. However when I went to buy the ticket at the office, there is a new pass which includes round trip ticket for Shinjuku-Matsumoto and 4-day pass for Matsumoto-Shirakawago area. I bought it for 15,900 yen as it was on sale at the moment.
เนื่องจากปีนี้หิมะตกเยอะ เลยน่าจะเป็นปีที่ดีที่จะไปเที่ยวหมู่บ้านชิราคาวาโกะ หลังจากหาข้อมูลมาสักพัก เราก็พบกับตั๋วชื่อ Three-Star Route Ticket ซึ่งครอบคลุมตั้งแต่ชินจูกุ มัตสึโมโต้ ชิราคาโกะ ไปจนถึงคานาซาว่า/โทยาม่า แต่พอไปซื้อตั๋วที่ออฟฟิศจริงๆ ปราฏว่ามีตั๋วอีกแบบซึ่งเป็นตั๋วไปกลับชินจูกุ-มัตสึโมโต้ และพาสไม่จำกัด 4 วันในละแวกมัตสึโมโต้ถึงชิราคาวาโกะ เลยตัดสินใจซื้อตั๋วนี้ในราคาส่วนลด 15,900 เยนแทน
Hirayu Onsen
After taking a bus from Shinjuku to Matsumoto, I changed the ticket to the 4-day pass at the bus terminal and took another bus to Hirayu Onsen. This town is the largest onsen town on Okuhida region. One of the most famous public baths is Hirayu no Mori which has a lot of indoor and outdoor baths. Even though you don't stay here, it is open for public for anyone to enjoy. It was such a great experience to run around in the snow to change from one hot bath to another.
หลังจากนั่งรถบัสจากชินจูกุมามัตสึโมโต้และเปลี่ยนตั๋วเป็นพาสที่สถานีรถบัสแล้ว เราก็นั่งรถบัสอีกคันไปยังฮิรายุออนเซ็นซึ่งถือเป็นเมืองออนเซ็นที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในแถบโอคุฮิดะ หนึ่งในออนเซ็นที่ดังของที่นี่คือ Hirayu no Mori ที่มีออนเซ็นทั้งในอาคารและนอกอาคารจำนวนมาก ถึงแม้จะไม่ได้นอนพักที่นี่ ทุกคนก็สามารถมาใช้บริการออนเซ็นแห่งนี้ได้ ต้องขอบอกเลยว่าการวิ่งท่ามกลางหิมะตกเพื่อเปลี่ยนบ่อแช่น้ำเป็นประสบการณ์ที่สนุกและหนาวสุดๆ ไปเลย

This time I stayed at Okada Ryokan Warakutei. The onsen and food were very good. This is one part of of the dinner which included the famous Hida beef in sukiyaki style | ครั้งนี้เราพักที่ Okada Ryokan Warakutei ซึ่งออนเซ็นและอาหารดีมาก นี่คือส่วนหนึ่งของอาหารเย็น ซึ่งรวมไปถึงเมนูดังอย่างเนื้อฮิดะ โดยเสิร์ฟเป็นสุกี้ยากี้

Shirakawa-go
We took a bus from Hirayu Onsen to Takayama and changed to another bus to go to Shirakawa-go. This UNESCO World Heritage site is famous for its gassho-zukuri farmhouses. From the bus stop, you can see the main street surrounded by traditional houses. The biggest building is Wada House which is now opened as a museum. At the end of the main street you will find Gassho-Zukuri Minkaen which is an open air museum with lots of farmhouses. The other highlight spot is Shiroyama Viewpoint where you can see the entire village from the top.

Shinhotaka Ropeway
This ropeway climbs up the side of the Hotake mountain range. The first ropeway took us from the base to Nabedaira Kogen and Shirakabadaira stations which had cafe, foot bath and open air onsen. The second ropeway went to Nishihotakaguchi station which had an observation deck where you can see panoramic view of Hida mountains. Too bad that the weather was very foggy during our visit so we couldn't see anything. However we could also take a little walk within snow walls. This area is also filled with flowers in other seasons.

Takayama
Takayama or Hida-Takayama is known for its beautiful preserved old town. Sannomachi area is filled with Edo-period traditional buildings, cute craft shops, museums, cafes and restaurants that you can try the famous Hida beef. There is also Higashiyama walking course which led me through the Shiroyama Park where the castle ruin lie as well as tens of temples hidden not far away from the main city center.
ทาคายาม่าหรือฮิดะทาคายาม่ามีชื่อเสียงจากเมืองเก่าที่มีความสวยงาม โดยย่านซันโนมาชินั้นยังมีอาคาคเก่าแก่สมัยเอโดะเรียงราย รวมไปถึงร้านงานฝีมือน่ารักๆ พิพิธภัณฑ์ คาเฟ่ และร้านอาหารที่มีเมนูเนื้อฮิดะให้ได้ลองชิมกัน นอกจากย่านเมืองเก่าแล้ว ที่นี่ยังมีเส้นทางฮิกาชิยาม่าให้เดินชมเมือง โดยสามารถเริ่มได้จากสวยชิโรยาม่าซึ่งมีซากปราสาทเก่า เรื่อยไปจนถึงถนนที่เต็มไปด้วยวัดนับสิบแห่งให้ได้ชมกัน ซึ่งจริงๆ แล้วไม่ได้ไกลจากใจกลางเมืองมากนัก

Matsumoto
Leaving Gifu prefecture behind, we came back to Matsumoto in Nagano prefecture. The city is famous for Matsumoto Castle, one of the few remaining original castles in Japan. It is also called "crow castle" due to the black color which makes it unique and memorable. As the castle was extremely old, we needed to take off the shoes in order to climb up the stairs. Inside the area, there were also some staff in traditional cosplays.
เราออกเดินทางจากจังหวัดกิฟุ กลับมายังเมืองมัตสึโมโต้ในจังหวัดนากาโน่อีกครั้ง แน่นอนว่าของดังเมืองนี้คงหนีไม่พ้นปราสาทมัตสึโมโต้ ซึ่งเป็นหนึ่งในปราสาทดั้งเดิมไม่กี่แห่งที่เหลืออยู่ในญี่ปุ่น ปราสาทนี้มีอีกชื่อหนึ่งคือปราสาทอีกาดำเนื่องจากตัวปราสาทที่มีสีดำไม่เหมือนใคร เนื่องจากปราสาทนี้เก่ามาก ทุกคนจึงต้องถอดรองเท้าเพื่อเข้าชมด้านในของตัวปราสาท นอกจากนี้หากเดินเล่นในบริเวณปราสาทก็จะสามารถเห็นพนักงานในชุดคอสตูมโบราณให้ถ่ายรูปได้เช่นกัน
