Hanami Guide in Tokyo
[English below] หนึ่งในกิจกรรมสำคัญในช่วงเดือนมีนาคม-เมษายนในญี่ปุ่นก็คือ Ohanami หรือการชมดอกซากุระนั่นเอง... ในโตเกียวเองก็มีที่ชมดอกซากุระหลายที่ และเนื่องจากครั้งนี้เป็นครั้งแรกที่ได้มีโอกาสชมซากุระเหมือนกัน เลยพยายามไปหลายๆ ที่เพื่อใครสนใจจะตาม แต่สงสัยต้องสำหรับปีหน้าแล้วมั้ง ฮ่า สำหรับพยากรณ์ดอกไม้ในโตเกียวปีนี้คือเริ่มบานวันที่ 21 มีนาคม และบานเต็มที่วันที่ 30 มีนาคม และน่าจะอยู่ได้ราวๆ 10 วันถ้าฝนไม่ตก
One of the most important events in Japan during March and April is Ohanami or sakura viewing! In Tokyo, there are plenty of places you can go. Since this is also my first Ohanami too, I have gathered a few places in case anyone like to join - probably next year though, lol. As for the forecast, the blooming should start on 21 March while the full bloom will happen on 30 March. The flower should be blooming for 10 days unless it rains.
Shinjuku Park
21 March
เนื่องจากวันนี้เป็นวันหยุด เลยออกมาเที่ยวข้างนอก จับพลัดจับพลูเลยได้มาที่สวนสาธารณะที่ชินจูกุ สวนนี้เป็นหนึ่งในที่ชมหลัก แต่ที่นี่เก็บค่าเข้า (500 เยน) และไม่อนุญาตให้เอาเครื่องดื่มแอลกอฮอล์เข้ามา (จุดประสงค์หลักของการชมดอกซากุระสำหรับคนญี่ปุ่นคือการกินเหล้าในสวน สังสรรค์กับเพื่อน และดูดอกไม้ ... ประมาณนั้น) ที่นี่เลยไม่ฮิตเท่าสวนโยโยกิ กับสวนอูเอโนะ จริงๆ แอบมาเร็วไปนิด เลยมีซากุระบานแค่ไม่กี่ต้น แต่สวนนี้สวยมาก ว่างๆ จะมาอีก
21 March was national holiday in Japan so I went out and somehow ended up in Shinjuku Park. This is one of the main locations for sakura viewing. However this park has entrance fee (500 Yen) and alcohol is not allowed, (the main focus of ohanami is drinking, chilling with friends and watching flower - kinda). For this reason, it is a bit less crowded than Yoyogi Park and Ueno Park. I came here a bit too early so there were only a few trees blooming. This park, however, is pretty and I will come back again.
Naka-Meguro

อีกหนึ่งสถานที่สุดฮิตคือคลองในย่านนากาเมกูโระที่เขาว่ากันว่าเป็นย่านฮิปสเตอร์ โดยเฉพาะสตาร์บัคส์สาขาใหม่ที่ว่ากันว่าใหญ่ที่สุดในโลก แต่เนื่องจากเป็นทางเดินเลียบคลองเลยค่อนข้างแคบ ร้านรวงต่างๆ พากันเปิดหน้าร้านขายของกินและเครื่องดื่ม โดยเฉพาะแชมเปญแช่สตรอว์เบอร์รี่อันเป็นพร็อพสุดฮิตของสาวๆ ... คือจริงๆ งงมากที่ร้านเสื้อผ้าเปิดขายทาโกยากิหน้าร้าน
One of the most favorite places to do Hanami is the canal in Naka-Meguro district which is considered a hipster area especially with the newly-opened Starbucks (probably the biggest in the world at this moment). As it is a small path along the canal, it is very narrow but you can enjoy food and drink (especially girls' favorite champagne with strawberry) in front of the stores. You can actually see clothes shops sell takoyaki during hanami season.
Kudanshita (Yasukuni Shrine + East Gate of Imperial Palace)

ด้วยความโชคดีที่ออฟฟิศตั้งอยู่กลางจุดชมซากุระ เลยมีโอกาสได้เดินผ่านต้นไม้สวยๆ ทุกวัน โดยเฉพาะช่วงนี้ที่มีการเปิดร้านขายอาหารในศาลเจ้า ส่วนบริเวณคลองเลียบพระราชวังนั้นก็จะมีบริการให้เช่าเรือพายชมวิว จริงๆ แล้วปกติแถวนี้มีแต่พนักงานออฟฟิศ แต่ตอนนี้คนเยอะมาก ถึงขนาดที่ต้องมีเจ้าหน้าที่ประกาศว่าห้ามหยุดยืนถ่ายรูป (แต่ทุกคนก็ถ่าย) ส่วนตอนกลางคืนเดินกลับบ้านแล้วช็อคกว่า เพราะมีคิวรอถ่ายรูปไฟยาวแบบเป็นร้อยคนได้
As my office is located in the middle of sakura-viewing spot, I have a chance to see the bloom everyday. Now there is a omatsuri (festival with food stalls) in the shrine and the boat-rowing service in the canal surrounded the Imperial Palace. Normally this area is filled with office workers, now there are tons of people so there has to be policemen announcing not to stop to take a picture (which everyone does). The more shocking thing is it is even more crowded at night as hundreds of people queuing to take pictures of the sakura with light installations.
Yoyogi Park

ถึงแม้จะเดินชมมาหลายสวน แต่ที่สวนโยโยกิคือครั้งแรกที่ได้ทำฮานามิอย่างจริงจัง นั่นก็คือการนั่งกินข้าวใต้ต้นซากุระจริงๆ วันที่ไปอากาศแย่มากๆ ทั้งเมฆเยอะ ฟ้ามืด และหนาวมาก แต่ด้วยสปิริต คนญี่ปุ่นมากันเต็มสวนแทบไม่เห็นหญ้าเลย โดยส่วนใหญ่คนจะนิยมเอาอาหารญี่ปุ่นพวกซูชิ ข้าวปั้น แล้วก็เครื่องดื่มอย่างสาเก เบียร์ หรืออูเมะชูมากินกัน กลุ่มที่ไปด้วยค่อนข้างใหญ่ ประมาณ 10 คนได้ (ตอนไปคือรู้จักคนเดียว ฮ่า) แต่งานนี้ถือว่าได้รู้จักเพื่อนใหม่เพียบ
Even though I have been to many parks, this was actually my proper hanami which I sat under the trees eating and drinking. On that day, the weather was very bad, it was cloudy, dark and very cold. However the park was packed with high-spirited Japanese and foreign people who came to join the event. The most common food probably sushi or onigiri as well as drinks such as sake, beer and umeshu. I join the group with more than 10 people (I had actually known one), it was a great way to make new friends.
Inokashira Park

นอกจากสวนนี้จะเป็นที่ตั้งของพิพิธภัณฑ์สตูดิโอจิบลิ ที่นี่ยังเป็นที่ฮิตของคนญี่ปุ่นมาพายเรือ ปั่นเรือเป็ด ชมดอกซากุระ สวนนี้จริงๆ แล้วสวยมาก ถึงแม้จะมีขนาดเล็ก และต้องเดินทางออกจากโตเกียวมาเล็กน้อย โดยสามารถนั่งรถไฟด่วนตรงจากชินจูกุหรือชิบูย่ามาได้เลย
This park is where Gibli Museum located. It is a very famous place among Japanese people as they can row a boat and watch sakura. This park is a bit small and a bit far from center Tokyo. However you can take a rapid train directly from Shinjuku or Shibuya.
Ueno Park

ปิดท้ายเทศกาลด้วยสวนสุดฮิตอย่างอูเอโนะซึ่งสวยและคนเยอะไม่แพ้ที่อื่นๆ นอกจากชมดอกซากุระแล้ว ที่นี่ยังมีโซนอาหารที่ทุกคนสามารถข้ามสะพานแวะมาซื้อบริเวณเกาะกลางสระบัว นอกจากนี้ที่นี่ยังน่าจะเป็นสวนเดียวที่เปิดให้ชมดอกไม้ตอนกลางคืน พร้อมเปิดโคมไฟสวยๆ ให้บรรยากาศไปอีกแบบ
Ending with one of the most famous spots like Ueno. This place is as beautiful (and crowded) as other places. There are also food stalls where you have to cross the bridge and buy food in the island in the middle of the lotus pond. This place is also open at night where you can see sakura among traditional lanterns.

Asakusa

วันนี้ได้มีโอกาสมาเดินอาซากุสะช่วงกลางคืน ถึงแม้ตัววัดจะปิดแล้ว แต่ยังสามารถเดินเข้าไปถ่ายในบริเวณวัดได้ ซึ่งยังพอดีดอกไม้หลงเหลืออยู่ ตัดกับฉากวัดด้านหลังก็สวยไปอีกแบบ
I had a chance to visit Asakusa area at night. Even though Sensoji temple is already closed, you can come in and take pictures of the surroundings. The sakura trees contrast with a temple was a very beautiful view.
Futako-Tamagawa

แถมควันหลงวันเกิดกับการไปดูซากุระริมแม่น้ำทามะ แม่น้ำเขตแดนกั้นกรุงโตเกียวกับจังหวัดคานากาว่า เนื่องจากช่วงนี้เข้าสู่ช่วงดอกไม้ร่วงแล้วเลยเหลือซากุระบานแค่ไม่กี่ต้น แต่ที่น่าสนใจคือสวนเล็กๆ ไม่ไกลจากแม่น้ำที่จริงๆ แล้วแทบไม่ค่อยมีดอกซากุระ แต่เป็นสวนญี่ปุ่นที่สวยมากเลยนะ
Probably the after match of hanami as I celebrated with sakura trees along Tama river which is the buffer area between Tokyo and Kanagawa prefecture. Since this week the sakura started to fall, there were only a few trees left. Besides the sakura, there was a pretty tiny garden near the river. Even though there are barely any sakura trees, its Japanese vibe was very interesting.
